Dear Donna G. Munch,
Thank you for the book. I love the book and read it every day. So can I get a picture of the castle and you and my teacher, Ms. Hissam, in it? That way I can show how you are.

Dear Donna G. Munch,
Your assembly has been the most exciting yet! I have made this letter to thank you for coming to our school. I am very interested about knowing about your book, "Dark Tales of the Tower." I haven't read it yet, but I think it's a very exciting, descriptive book. I think you have a lot of imagination to write a book. I admire that. I am very interested in reading it.

Dear Mrs. Munch,
You were great up there. I liked when you read us the story "Dark Tales of the Tower." I liked the expressions you made when you read a chapter and liked how fascinating the story was. You must of been tired of writing it. Good luck with your next book. Well, just to tell you, you were fascinating up there, really fascinating. You were great!

Dear Mrs. Munch,
I thought you were great and bright! I liked when you read us a chapter of your book. It was exciting when it ended as a mystery! Also, the pictures were amazing. My favorite one was the castle. But I wonder what the queen looks like. Have you ever wondered what she looks like? Thank you.
Yours truly,
Shaye- Da Vinci School
Dear Mrs. Donna G. Munch,
It was very interesting listening to you about the book. A lot of the kids liked your story. The whole class bought it, even I did. I haven't read it yet, because I haven't had time with homework and all, but I promise you I will read it when I have time.
Best wishes,
Mariana- Da Vinci School
Hi! This is a student from the El Paso Jewish Academy. I just want to know if you might make a movie about your book Dark Tales of the Tower? It would be really neat. I understand if you're not. Please e-mail me back.
Thanks,

Thanks for the writing workshop! I liked writing a short story. The pre-writing and exercises gave me ideas. I would recommend it to a friend.

I totally loved the writing workshop! I liked the thinking games like word clusters. I learned about how to spice up a story with dialogue, word choice etc. The pre-writing and exercises helped jog my mind.

Dear Mrs. Munch,
Hi, I'm Sara. I just wanted to let you know personally
that I enjoyed your book very much! I just had
the urge to keep on reading it and not stop until I
finish. That doesn't happen to me often. My teacher's
were just like, "Sara finish your work!" I wanted to just
keep reading!! I just LOOVVEEE to read!!!!!!!!!! Ask
my mom! I'll be in the library at school about 2-3
times a week to get a new book. I think you should
write more books about Chloe and Luke, and I'll buy
the copies!! My brother wants to say something to you too
Dear Mrs. Munch,
Hi I'm Ryan, I'm nine years old. I really liked your book.
It's not like every other book I've read. It was out of the
ordinary, I LOVED it!! I thought it was funny when Chloe
kept their dog on the plane with them! I think you
should make more. Me and my sister, Sara, we had a
contest to see who could finish first. I won. I finished
the book in two nights and two days. My sister's in
seventh grade, so she was more busy than me,
though. I had more time to finish. Please email us back!
Love,
Sara and Ryan, Wahpeton, North Dakota
Dear Donna Munch,

Kid's comment on my writing workshop:
"My name is Austin Frisbey and I am 10 years old. I attended Mrs. Munch's writing workshop. I learned a lot like writing is a good way to learn. I have been writing a lot since her workshop and I've become a better writer all because of Mrs. Munch's writing workshop. She got me going. I want to say a few things about the workshop. One thing I learned is to "throw up" on your paper. That is a funny idea. You don't really throw up on your paper! Anyway, "throwing up on your paper means to just keep writing and don't worry about errors or stop to erase words until you've finished. Then you go back and edit and erase words.
Another thing I learned is the prewriting. She told us to start with who, what, when, and where. Then you explain all the details in the story. I learned a lot more, but those were the most important."
*Note: That Monday following the workshop, Austin was asked to write a personal essay in school, and he chose to write about the writing workshop.
